Further up and Further In

In the last chapter of the final book of the Chronicles of Narnia, I've always been puzzled by the repeated vigor in which Farsight the unicorn exhorts, 'Further up and further in' to Edmund and company as they find themselves in a new country resembling heaven. Though details of the chronicles and the exact ending has since slipped from me, these words have remained with me and i have thought often about them.

"Don't stop, farther up and farther in! Take it in your stride".

Of late, it has become clear to me that this was CS Lewis's way of encouraging believers to never settle in their faith, to always aspire to go higher and deeper in their pursuit of God and their walk with faith. An invaluable lesson that, fleshed out on my own, i will keep for life.
